A rural art centre

The art and landscape centre of the island of Vassivière is nestled in the countryside. It is a place dedicated to research and the creation of contemporary art, and its main theme is the landscape. Its activities are based on open-mindedness and sharing with the public.
As seasons go by, visitors can discover temporary exhibitions, inside the building, as well as an outdoor permanent exhibition, the sculpture forest. This exhibition grows each year as works of art, from the most gigantic to the very smallest, are added to the collection.
The art centre is also a resource centre for contemporary art lovers, thanks to its extensive collection of documents, and its thematic book store. It is also a relay for Limousin’s art library. One hundred works of art which belong to the Region can be borrowed here.
The art centre organizes training days and courses, conferences, workshops and many educational activities for visitors of all ages.
It also organizes artist residences with each new season.
